Powerful Hybrid Performance and Fuel Efficiency

The hybrid powertrain combines a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with two electric motors that operate on three main drive modes: Parallel, Series, and EV. You can get a fuel efficiency of up to 64 mpg and a combined range of 420 miles when driving in Parallel mode, which is managed automatically. The Series mode of the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV features regenerative charging, and the EV mode kicks in when the gas tank is empty to deliver up to 38 miles of battery-only range.

A continuously variable transmission and an electronic stability control system give the Outlander PHEV precise control over powertrain and all-wheel driver management; you can select driving modes that range from sand to snow and from sport to energy efficiency. The battery can be charged in a few hours when the Outlander is plugged into a standard electrical outlet, but the higher trim levels support fast Level 3 DC charging.

The Look and Feel of a Flagship SUV

While the Outlander PHEV is built on a compact chassis, its body frame provides midsize SUV styling and space. The first thing you should know about this new Outlander is that Mitsubishi executives have made it their flagship SUV, which means that is packed with elegant style and luxury features. The exterior is sleek, modern, and distinctive. In higher trim levels such as the SEL Black Edition, the 20-inch wheels, dynamic shielding, and roof accents make it look like a luxurious full-size SUV.

Things get more impressive when you step inside the Outlander PHEV, which offers a three-row seating configuration with plenty of comfort for you and six adult passengers. Optional upgrades include leather seats with massaging textures, panoramic sunroof, LED mood lighting, and more.

New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Advanced Technology Features and Smart Safety Functions

As you can expect from a Mitsubishi flagship SUV, the Outlander PHEV is loaded with technology features developed to keep you informed, entertained, and safe while driving around Richmond or going on road trips. The infotainment system supports Android and iPhone connectivity, and it offers proprietary GPS navigation as an upgrade. Premium audio is provided by a Bose sound system. The new Outlander PHEV prioritizes your safety with technologies such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure notifications, and blind-spot alerts to help you navigate the road with confidence. On higher trim levels, the adaptive cruise control function integrates with the navigation system.

New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Trim Levels

You can choose from five Outlander trim levels according to your driving lifestyle. The ES base model comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and LED headlights. The SE comes with extras such as a wireless charging pad, remote entry and ignition, heated front seats, and many others. The SEL and the more stylish SEL Black Edition are for drivers who appreciate extras like leather upholstery, heated seats, adaptive cruise control, accented roof rails, and voice commands for the infotainment system.
